I am not sure if this is where to post in rather of a hurry to get to class but, I am looking for a Pvr or a recording device and I do not know what to get. If I have to go through my computer it is a last resort. I have 200 bucks to get a recorder. Is it possible to find a recorder that goes just through your X box to a storage device like an external hard-drive (example) or no? Please help

Yes, I need to find a recorder device that is usable on the Xbox without a computer that is still good. I use a old Sony Box Tv 2007 model, AV Hookup I believe.

The closest thing I can think of to what you describe would be an DVD recorder with an HDD http://www.amazon.com/MAGNAVOX-MDR513H-F7-Recorder-Digital/dp/B003DPKOKK ...but I have a hunch it won't be close enough.

Recordings are stored on the HDD in MPEG-2 format but are difficult to export, except by burning to DVD, plus DVD recorders only record in standard definition. A DVD recorder is able to pass video and audio to a TV while recording, but I don't know if there is a delay that is significant enough to affect gameplay. They offer S-Video or composite plus RCA stereo audio inputs (to connect to the XBOX 360) and outputs (to connect to a TV).
