  1. I managed to download a performance I was in that was streamed to the web. My bits are at the beginning and again about 2 hours into a 3 hour video. I would like to split the file in two and permanently erase the parts I am not in and therefore reduce the file size of this 588MB flv file. I'm wondering what the most efficient program and easiest way to do this is on a Mac OSX platform. Most of the programs I have seem to convert files to a bigger size and not erase things permanently. (I think) Like the title says, I'm a newbie.
    Thank you in advance.

Try avidemux, open flv, set start and stop, save as new mp4. No video reconversion.

  3. That program crashed every time I tried to open it. Any other programs that would do the job?
    TIA

Try avidemux version 2.5.0 : set video=copy, audio=copy and the format container to flv. Set start and stop and select File>Save>Save Video. Give it a new file name and add the [.flv] extension.

If this did not work, it may be helpful to provide us with a text report of MediaInfo.

I'm not sure what the equivalent to MediaInfo on the Mac would be. Would that be the Crash Report? Here it is:

I did try downloading avidemux2 again, but it still crashed instantly when opened. What would be really nice is something like a video equivalent to Audacity.
