  1. Hello,

I've been trying to use as few programs as possible to complete this task. Dvdfab doesn't let you keep the top menu and it gets messed up when you try to only keep HD audio (defaults to directors comments). I tried clown bd bd copier but the first time I tried on the dark knight, it messed up the audio tracks (I only selected the HD audio track). It defaulted to audio track 3 even though I had removed it already and so I had to manually choose Track 1. Is there a program that can do what I want? Thanks

  2. You could try this:

    1) Rip full disc with DVDFab.
    2) Rebuild the disc with BDRB.

Pay attention to the settings in BDRB. Select "Keep HD audio for BD25 encoding". Also select "Limit to one track for each language", and deselect all languages except for the one(s) you want. Do this for both audio and subtitles. I presume English in your case.

The first audio track is invariably the one you want, never seen a BD disc that isn't like that. And BDRB will select the first audio and subtitle tracks of a language you've selected in settings.

This should work for you assuming the rip is not corrupted in some way and DVDFab is up to date. DVDFab is not the best choice for encoding, although it's fine for ripping to hard drive. Good luck.

[EDIT] And welcome to the forum.

  3. Are there any other options than BDRB? When I tried doing what you said it appeared to be encoding the movie and would take several hours. Am I doing something wrong? I'd prefer not to take several hours considering I don't want do any compression.

  4. You could set a custom target size larger than your total content. That way it shouldn't re-encode.

Anyway, I suspect you made a mistake somewhere in Clown_Bd BD Copier. I don't currently have it installed, but IIRC, it has two muxing options and it's not the most intuitive program. But it should have worked.

Have a look at this thread:

  5. So I just tried another movie and it worked fine with BD Copier. I'm wondering if its because the HD audio isn't the primary track for the dark knight (have to double check). Also, it would be nice if BD copier would delete the placeholders for audio tracks for the ones you don't select. I can remove all the other tracks but they still show up as options when I play the disc back

  6. Ok so I double checked and it appears the problem is with Time Warner BD's the default audio is not HD and usually dolby digital (as with Dark KNight). So for Dark Knight, TrueHD is the 2nd audio track and it needs to be selected since clown bd does not change the default primary audio track.

  7. I found out re-authoring with BDRB will get the job done. Although it's a very tedious effort to get what I want, I guess this is my only solution until Clown_BD can fix this issue.
