probably very obvious, but what is the shortcut keys to highlight items in a list but be able to skip certain files?
what i mean is, imagine you are looking in your external hard drive, there is a long list of say 500 files, you wanted to delete 20 files ( not all next to each other) if you press SHIFT + (?).. will that allow you to highlight certain files while being able to not nightlight others all at once?
sorry, hard to explain but a common task im sure,
thanks guys

Should be CTRL on a QWERTY keyboard to highlight/select individual items. (STRG on a German QWERTZ keyboard).

oh yeah i know about control, what i meant was...for example, there is a list of 40 movie files downwards. if i wanted to select them all i would press CTRL and arrow down to cover them all
what if i wanted to select say the 3rd, 7th, 11th, 19th and 26th file....so 5 files not in a row...how do i highlight those 5 files at once, without highlighting the files between? -
To select multiple files in a row it would be SHIFT-select. Use CTRL-select and click on your files one at a time, regardless of order.
Have a good one,
neomaine
