playing dvd converted to mkv on bluray

i have been converting regular dvd to mkv and it plays on my computer fine but wont play off my harddrive thru usb on my bluray player... but at the same time a ripped bluray in the same format will play through that same usb port on the dvd player just fine. no problems at all....the program i am using to rip is....handbrake... any ideas how to get the regular dvds converted to mkv to play thru my bluray usb?

That is strange.

I have found that the newer version of handbrake can be a little buggy in the videos final output. Depending on your settings or templates, some times the play, some times they don't.

I know use Ripbot to convert by Blu-Ray to DivX Plus (H.264 Video and 5.1 AAC in MKV Shell) and play back off my external hard drive connected to my LG BR player. No issues at all.

im talking dvd converted though..bluray converted plays fine...but i will give ur idea a shot. thank you
