I like them all too, although Stargate Universe is my least favorite. It was a big departure from the others. Half the protagonists had serious character flaws and routinely behaved in a less than exemplary manner.

The only one that I have seen in its entirety is Stargate Universe. I'm still working on the other two. (I was without SyFy for a few years.) I can't really pick a favorite between SG1 and Atlantis.

  8. I don't have a favorite series. Favorite episodes, for sure. Now, is the franchise dead, or will a new crew appear on Destiny to find the previous crew decayed or mysteriously missing? The sets are still intact, last I heard.

Almost the same response as 'marioval'. Except I liked the original movie enough to buy it again as a BR.

As far as the series go I watched maybe most of the first season but it seemed to get boring so, I never watched it again. Maybe I missed something with the other series?

I too have the Extended Cut Blu-Ray. I have watched this movie at least 1 time every year since 1994 and it never gets old. I have owned the VHS and even the Laserdisc (remember those). I can't get through 5 minutes of any of the series though. I have read here and there on the internet that a sequel to the original movie has been discussed but has never come to be. It's really a shame. If ever a movie deserved a sequel it's this one. They made 4 "Scary Movie" films and a 5th is in development but only 1 Stargate. there is no justice in the world!!

Stargate Atlantis. The characters were more interesting. SG-1 was a little slow.

  15. Liked them all, though Atlantis was a bit more interesting. SGU was completely different, still good though.

Though I am still pissed that Sci-fi axed Farscape to add Stargate.

    I missed this! Sorry...

SG1 personally. Atlantis a close second.

    SGU sucks big time.

I like the original movie a lot. I have the first release on bluray not the reissue. I also have continuum on bluray and ark of the truth on dvd.

I have all 10 seasons of sg1 on dvd and all 5 of atlantis on dvd as well.

  17. I'm not overly enthused with any of them. Not bad, and I watch, just not that enthused. Definitely not a change-my-schedule-because-I-have-to-be-home-to-watch-it series. I picked Atlantis primarily because of Jewel Staite (Dr. Keller) - awesome actress. Joe Flanigan (John Sheppard) and Jason Momoa (Ronan) also provide excellent action. The rest, I couldn't care less about. And what's with Stargate being the repository for canceled Sci-Fi series actors?

Stargate Atlantis. The Raith were a more plausible (and frightening) adversary than the Go'auld. Humans had nothing to offer them, except for being their source of sustenance.

SG-1 was also watched religiously, but it required a direct to disc movie, The Arc of Truth to tie up loose ends.

Liked them all. Enjoyed but didn't watch all of SG1. Really got into Atlantis. It become a bonding show for me and my son to watch together.

Universe took some getting used to but it was really growing on me. Could have used a better captain ... didn't do nearly enough with some story lines... got caught in the BSG wannabe... But, somehow, it kept me going and interested. It was like a date that kept promising me something and giving a little bit every time but not quiet going all the way.
    Have a good one,

    The movie and SG-1.

They really should have closed the story arc somewhere between seasons 5 and 10.

Sadly some people don't know when it's time to stop.
There is no point in extending a good idea "ad infinitum"
    (Atlantis, Universe, whatever).

It did -- the end of season 8 was the end of the show.

But it was renewed, so it was milked even more, even though people like RDA left.
    Then came Atlantis and SGU.

I liked all the series and movies, all of them were good, Universe was a bit different but it was getting better, in my opinion the decline started with the departure of Torri Higginson in Atlantis, they tried to "patch it" with Amanda Tapping and Robert Picardo but by then it was more than obvious that something wasn't right, if they had kept Torri the franchise would still be "alive" today.
I love it when a plan comes together!

Good of you to mention it, where's the entry for Stargate Infinity?

I saw them all and liked them all. SGU had a rough start and took some adjusting, unfortunately just as the possibilities were starting to get really interesting, they got cancelled. Atlantis didn't get a satisfying ending, unlike SG-1 (even though it took a "movie to tie up the loose ends").
