Hi folks... I am going to be doing some traveling over the next year and I was wondering if there is such a thing as a multi standard portable digital TV.
Since every part of the world uses different digital TV standards I'm looking for one that at least has ATSC and DVB.
    Is there such an animal?

Good idea, ... looking. Existing seem targeted at RV/camping.

http://www.overstock.com/Electronics/Envizen-7-inch-Portable-Digital-TV-DVD-Player/435...tml?rcmndsrc=2 Most are ATSC or DVB-T only. No luck.

Another possibility is a USB DTV tuner stick for a laptop, or several. One for each standard.

If you like edDV's idea. This TV tuner stick has a tuner capable of working with most terrestrial TV broadcast systems http://www.amazon.com/Diamond-TVW750USB-ATI-Theater-Tuner/dp/B002UOUQ08

Of course you will still need a good antenna, but you might need that for a portable TV as well. You will also need good TV software for the laptop, and will have to set it up again each time you change cities.

Looks like that is my best bet.

Hopefully I can find one that works on Mac!

It would have been helpful if you had filled in the computer details in your profile so we knew you were using a Mac. As far as I know, the Diamond TV Wonder 750 USB is the only TV tuner stick with a tuner capable of tuning DVB-T, ATSC, NTSC, SECAM, and PAL. You will have to buy more than one TV tuner stick to have the same ability with a Mac.
