  1. Hi there,

Newbie here, will appreciate any kind of advice I can get.

Problem: try to rip DVD to AVI files. In the original DVD, I can choose to play the video either with the original (audio A) only or to play it with simultaneous translation (audio B). When I use Bitripper to rip the file, the avi file only have (audio B). But I want the avi file to have (audio A) only.

What I have tried so far?
    - I tried to use DVDx 4.0 to rip the DVD again, but it's even worse, no sound at all in the avi file.
    - I attempted to use AutoGK to rip, but I am not sure which 'file' to choose at the DVD directories. I tried to click on each of the .VOB files in the DVD directory, and all of these files are playing with (audio B). I cannot find a single .VOB file that play only with (audio A).

here's a snip-shot of the directory. There are no files in the 'AUDIO_TS'. When I tried to just play the DVD, I can choose at the menu and have the video to play with audio A only, it works. But I don't understand why all the .VOB files have audio B working when I click and play them.

You are trying to CONVERT a DVD to an AVI file. A "rip" is an exact copy of a DVD placed on your hard drive with no compression changes.
"Rip" the DVD to your hard drive with only one language BEFORE you convert it to an AVI file....that way you are guaranteed to have only the language you want.

  5. long long back I tried handbrake 0.9.3 or 093 (last with XViD codec) with AnyDVD, gave me an option for audio stream selection.
As my both audio streams were ac3, i kept 5.1 ch ac3, if i recollect my memories two to three years back.

select your desired stream run short rip, if it's with desired audio re-run complete job otherwise switch audio stream an re-run the job. or try any commercial software like DVDFab, DVDClone or DVD Clone Mobile.

  6. First try dvdshrink. If you run into issues with decryption then try dvdfabdecrypter first.

Either of these will rip the dvd to your hard drive creating (as a minimum) a folder called video_ts. The usual folder format is a dvd disc title folder within which reside 2 other folders entitled audio_ts and video_ts. You will find your video files in the video_ts folder.

When you proceed to convert your video into an avi file, your software may accept an inpout entry with the video_ts folder title in order to load the entire video. If not, then try using the video_ts.vob file as the primary index to the entire video.

If none of this works, this has at least given you a list providing a process of elimination for which you can make further deductions about the process you will ultimately need to follow.

These things work for me using either dvdshrink or dvdfabdecryptor and then something like nerovision or roxio to convert to mpg. You can convert from mpg using just about any free converter you can find.

    hope this help a little.

Let me take a wild guess and say you never installed the DivX Codec. It's not included in the AutoGK package. Either install it and try again or use the XviD Codec instead. It is included with AutoGK.

  8. Thank you all for your hep! I can successfully rip DVD into AVI files now!
I reinstalled the DivX Codec & installed XviD Codec, tried both in AutoGK, and they both work.
    Thank you so much~~
