    Hi all,
Since I frequently work with both audio and video I've run into a problem that I've dealt with many times but would like to know what the general consensus is about it.
When using lossless video, you're bound to run into an interlaced frame. Ie., part of the previous frame shows and part of the next frame shows...
Now, when doing audio work, what's the best way to handle such frames? For instance, if one shot shows a nail being hammered in the Center channel, then the next shot shows it off-screen to the Front Left, how do you know where to begin the audio pan?
I'm hoping you understand what I mean.
    Thanks for your help

  2. I hardly think it matters. But if you want perfection: the two fields in an interlaced frame are to be viewed sequentially, so the sound should change half way through the frame.

Hm. That's interesting. Even though I mentioned dealing with this countless times and not being 100% certain of how it should be addressed, the halfway approach is how I'm used to doing it. Thanks for the info
