i have been using multiAVCHD v4.1 to put DVDs onto BD and had no problems with that. the blu-ray images played perfectly in PowerDVD 10 and 11. then i attempted to do the same with some MKVs of TV shows (that i purchased and DRM is no longer an issue). the process went without a hitch until i tried to play the resulting blu-ray image in PowerDVD. the video would start to play, then pause, the it would play again and then pause (the audio played without issue).
i then decided to play the m2ts files from the STREAM folder in PowerDVD and they played perfectly. i don't have a standlalone blu-ray player as i have always used a HTPC (well, i did buy one that should be here tomorrow) so i don't know if a burned BD will have the same "stutter".
i know i haven't given any of the details of the MKV (i can if necessary), but was figuring someone else had a similar problem. i've tried searching this forum (among others) and could only find people who were having trouble with going from BD to MKV.
well, here is one of the files (the rest are the same varying only in duration and avg. bitrate)
does anybody know what could be causing the stuttering when playing back the blu-ray image (but playing the individual m2ts files is smooth)? i would appreciate the help as i'm about to throw another monitor out of the window. thanks.
and i would have asked this question at the author's forum but it appears he is no longer supporting it as all i see are hundreds of spam posts about pharmaceuticals. i think he abandoned it sometime in mid-2010.

Try another mkv to avchd/blu-ray software like https://www.videohelp.com/tools/sections/all-in-one-mkv-to-mp4-avchd-ts and see how it works with powerdvd.

Just a wild guess, but have you tried High@L4.1? And to give my own opinion, get avchdcoder and your video play just fine. For player i'd suggest something else than powerdvd. Best quality given I have got with player named "splash pro (v1.7 atm)" which I use only to watch any hd-content. It produces picture quality that's far superior compared to vlc example. That is a "file-player" more like tho, so if you're looking for real bluray player one alternative I use is totalmedia theatre. Hope this helps!
