For the last several years we've been using a Canon ZR-10 for our weekly video show Church-Talk (www.ChurchTalk.tv). It has served us well, but we're thinking it's time to upgrade our camera. Our setup is that we run a firewire directly from our camera into our Mac and use QuickTime 7 to capture to our harddrive directly (no need to deal with uploading, etc.). We get our sound from set mics that run through a mixing board, into the Mac, and capture through QT7. This has served us well and we'd like to continue skipping the step of downloading camera video files to the computer (it also keeps us from having to use the camera's on board sound, which is typically lower quality).
With that in mind, I'm trying to find a mid-range camera (less than $3000) for studio use that will allow us to directly connect to the Mac for capture.
Suggestions?
Thanks!

I'd be interested in the replies you get too. I watched one of your videos. Not bad at all in my opinion.

Thanks! We've been doing video for a couple years ... but really do want to go to the next level.
