    Hi,

OK, I now own an EliteVideo BVP4+ ProcAmp. I have on order a DataVideo TBC-1000 Time Base Corrector. I capture with a Sony DVMC-DA1.

Whenever possible, I intend to use S-Video connections, of which all of the above will accept. In some cases, some of my video camera's only have composite available, so I will have to use that at times.

Anyway, my question is: What is the preferred order for the signal chain; TBC -> ProcAmp -> Capture Device, or ProcAmp -> TBC -> Capture Device?

I realize there may be no one correct answer, but I am interested in gathering some insight. So far, I'm very impressed with the level of knowledge on this forum, and I'm sure I'll learn something here.

I would imagine there will be times when I won't need the TBC, or it won't do anything for a particular tape (especially since my JVC HMDH40000U VCR has a TBC built in. However, I"m not sure if it is a line TBC, or a full-frame TBC).

(BTW, the BVP4+ works fine after doing the calibration provided on this site. I can see that this is going to be a very valuable piece of gear. I'm so glad I took the chance on this unit from E-Bay since they are so hard to find.)

    Thanks!

    Bob

This has been discussed multiple times here, both why and what to do.
(Mostly in 'Workflows' and 'Restoration' forums.)

Signal correction comes first, so TBC > BVP
