    Easiest -> Freemake Video Converter.

    But what kind of m2ts? m2ts from a ripped blu-ray or m2ts from a camcorder?

    Thanks - the M2TS is ripped from a Blu-ray.

    Can't understand this - tried to use Freemake Video Converter on a 10GB M2TS file - conversion went well. On playback video is fine but when the soundtrack ramps up the sound has intermittent crackles. (The source is fine).

    I converted to AVI with the DVD Quality option.

    Am I doing something wrong?

    Check if you can select another audio track in freemake. It might not support all kind of audio tracks fully yet.

    Or you could try xmedia recode,xvid4psp, format factory or at last solution try SUPER.

    Thanks. The MT2S file has a 5.1 track and a stereo track - - the 5.1 is in English but the Stereo is, I think, Spanish. I tried the Stereo spanish track as an experiment and bingo, no crackles! Now I just need to find an English Stereo track, or try your program suggestions.

    Keep digging up long dead threads to update them for no reason and you are probably going to hear from a moderator.
