  1. I have now spend some time searching around in this forum and beyond. Nevertheless I have not found an answer.
What I would like to do is store my HD-DVD's, DVD's and Blu-Ray on my HTPC.
Run 7WMC on the HTPC and still have the ability to use the remote to jump chapters and select subtitles.

With MKV and the shark007 codec I can jump chapters and deselct subtitle by using the mouse and selcting the item in the toolbar with the HaariSpliter.

But how can get this into the 7WMC?

(I thought about ripping to iso's but that doesn't fly due to the mounting...)

    Welcome timf79

Its all about "native" file type support when it comes down to microsoft

    Another post from sevenforums reads

    Ripping to image: Slysoft AnyDVD(HD)
    Mount image: Slysoft Virtual CloneDrive
Play Movie: PowerDVD10 - fully integrated in Media Centre

You should read the post in it's full form to get a better understanding.

Current video file types supported :

Windows Media files (.wm, .wmv, and .asf)
AVCHD files (including Dolby Digital audio) (.m2ts and .m2t)
Apple QuickTime files (.mov and .qt)
    AVI files (.avi)
Windows Recorded TV Show files (.wtv and .dvr-ms)
    MPEG-4 movie files (.mp4, .mov, and .m4v)
MPEG-2 movie files (.mpeg, .mpg, .mpe, .m1v, .mp2, .mpv2, .mod, and .vob)
    MPEG-1 movie files (.m1v)
Motion JPEG files (.avi and .mov)

To use menu's, etc, you may only have one choice for now which would be to convert to dvd (menu, chapters) in which the remote can be used.
