Does zipped video file take less time to upload than unzipped file does? If so, should we always zip the video file first before uploading?

Video compression is complex and ZIP (or RAR) can't improve on it much.
Zipping a video file rarely makes it smaller by more than 1%. So it won't save any time in up or downloading.
However, I prefer to download large files in RAR archives as they can be split into segments, and so if there is an error in one part only that part need be redownloaded. Also extracting a RAR file gives an error check.

Depends on the transfer software and the amount of compression in the target video/audio file.
If the file is low compressed, the transfer software can do additional compression.
Sometimes, highly compressed files expand in response to compression algorithms thus slowing the transfer.Recommends: Kiva.org - Loans that change lives.
