I know the effect known as "amplify" does wonders for low-sounding mp3's. Is there a batch processing function in Audacity that will allow me to load in a bunch of mp3's, amplify them, and then export them as new mp3's that sound a lot louder and better?

    I'd appreciate any help.

Better to use MP3Gain. It just boosts the volume to your target, doesn't reencode.
    It can batch too

MP3Gain will do this better than Audacity. I find that the default setting of 89.0 is too low and change it to 97.0.
