Windows start to freeze up every 5 minutes yesterday so i tested the ram(2x4gb) with memtest and found errors when paired up,i adjusted the dram v and found at 1.35v there were no more errors, the ram is supposed to work at 1.5v.

Think i should rma the ram back or will they be stable at that voltage?

I'm assuming you aren't OCing the RAM? And that it also is not running overly hot?

That's quite a change in voltage to have to make and I would probably RMA the RAM back if it doesn't operate stably at it's recommended voltage. If this 'freezing' just started and the RAM was stable before, that seems to point to defective/deteriorating RAM.

i'm wondering if maybe your motherboard is a tad on the cheesy side and can't work with ram of that quality. i know it sounds silly but i once bought some swanky ram and the cheapo motherboard(s) i was using at the time wouldn't run stably until i clocked the ram down to the next lower clock speed, yet the exact same sticks when put in a higher end board ran just fine, with no stability issues.

The mb runs cheap ram no problem, its an asus M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 so it's not a cheapo board,it's mid grade mb.

DDR3 RAM seems to be a lot less problematic than the earlier DDR2 or DDR. I haven't found a MB/RAM combination that has problems with DDR3. Corsair Dominator seems to be popular. I'm running Mushkin in my listed PC. (And it is OC'd 'just a bit'. )

But even the best brand has a few failures. Nice to have the lifetime guarantee.

I sent the ram back via rma,the generic ram i put in is running with no problems at all,i did read a few reviews on the vengeance series i bought and seems like quite a few complaints of bad ram like i had, hope the replacements are better.
