  1. I want to convert a dvd that has multiple tracks and a menu to navigate. I've copied the DVD folders locally (DVDFab says there's no need to decrypt), and tried using DVDX, AutoMKV, MakeMKV and Handbrake. I'm stuck using a netbook with a limited 1024x600 resolution, so Handbrake complains that it needs minimum 1024x768 and exits.

All the rest seem to only convert individual DVD tracks into corresponding MKV files.
Does the Matroska container support having a menu screen with selectable options?

One way I figure is I could use mkvmerge to combine the individual files; but what do I do about the menu screen?
Is there an easier way to do it?

    Nope, no menu support.

  3. Thanks.
Any other container format that does? How about MP4?

Yep, mp4 support menus. But I have not seen any menu software or players with such support yet.

You could also make a .divx with menus, https://www.videohelp.com/tools/sections/authoring-divx . You have to create the menus manually(no dvd to divx menus).
