  1. I downloaded mpeg2repair1015.zip and my AV warns it's an Trojan. I then uploaded it to Virualtotal and 11 different AV's reported it as infected.

Is it clean or infected, because it seems to have been on videohelp for years?

I scanned it with 2 separate AV's and they found nothing
It may be throwing you false positives

avg paid version found nothing. virustotal results are wacky. all the major players in the malware field say it's clean, only the weird little no-name, no one's ever heard of software claim it's infected.

The antivirus triggers are almost certainly because the author (Mark) used PESpin to pack his program. That packer is also used by some malware, so some antivirus software notices the PESpin packer and thinks it has found malware. In reality, the antivirus software has only found a false positive.

The current copy on mwilczyn's website has the following MD5 hashes:
    mpeg2repair.zip 063ab184b86dc6919dbcf69482ff9f07
    mpeg2repair.exe b57f9e302cf50195ab2917840366dda9

It is unfortunate that Videohelp has removed the info page and download link that used to be available at https://www.videohelp.com/tools/MPEG2Repair

    The author's homepage is here:
    http://home.roadrunner.com/mwilczyn/mpeg2repair/

Alternative download links, including command line wrappers, can be found in this thread
