If you have tried lots of different tools & you still experience out-of-sync issues, maybe there is an issue with the source .ts files you are getting from NextPVR. Can you change the save-to format ? Maybe try another TV recording software, like TV Scheduler Pro, to see if it makes a difference.
VideoRedo is not good at all. It was unable to deal with my HD recorded ts file that is 4.6GB in size. (YES I am using a registered Trial KEY, and the SD ts files is handled correctly by VideoRedo, but it was unable to cope with my lengthy HD ts files) VideRedo stopped around 20% of the process of turning the TS file into MPG, even sounded the end trumpet sound, but the output file is not complete.

Lucky I didn't buy VideoRedo as it's not able to handle my HD Recordings!!! And I thought VideoRedo was supposed to be good? But it's not good at all if it cannot even handle my HD ts recordings properly

I did find a solution though when looking through google, I came across a person who is in the same boat as me:

    http://avidemux.org/smf/index.php?topic=9204.15

There is an Experimental Avidemux, version 2.6 and it turns the HD ts files into working MPG file and the MPG files play perfectly.

    So Avidemux 2.6 WORKS

Good to hear you have found a solution that works in your situation.

With respect, I think your negative comments about Video ReDo are un-neccessary. OK, it didn't work for you but it works for me & a lot of others. Yes, it is lucky you didn't buy it first... but that's why a trial period is granted.

I posted suggestions to try to help you & I don't see why I should then read criticisms of those suggestions. If it doesn't work for you, all you need to say is "It didn't work for me". You are not owed a solution from forums like this or people like me.

Funnily enough, the 'other person' on the AVIDemux forum was unable to record & transcode the same Australian HD channels that I routinely & successfully record with TV Scheduler Pro, edit using Video ReDo & playback using Splash Pro.

    Hmmmm.......

I trialed VideoRedo and I think it's very important to share my truthful experience with it so others do not rush off and buy it..because VideoRedo cannot handle my lengthy HD ts files obviously, and cuts them by 75-80% and the end MPG is not the full length of the original.

However I did say VideoRedo works superb on my SD ts files...but it cannot handle the HD ts files at all! So VideoRedo is useless to me as most of the programs I record are in HD.

And your recommendation is not good for beginners and noobs as myself. You point to 3 different programs needed to accomplish a successful video file playback. And VideoRedo should be able to do everything on its own and produce a FULLY working MPG file, but it doesn't!

Suffice to say, I like the solution on the Avidemux website better, we now only NEED ONE PROGRAM, Avidemux and it does everything we need.

And I could never get TV Scheduler Pro Rev 184 to work for me.

Here are some errors I get:

Yes, feedback from everyone is useful for the community at large, but there's a big difference between constructive feedback & outright
criticism. Fair enough, you are a newbie and may be confused, but asking questions will get you more help whereas rubbishing suggestions won't.

Just last night I edited, using Video ReDo, a 12Gb HD .ts file I recorded from GEM over the weekend. The resultant file (saved in .ts as well as H264 .mkv) plays back fine in Splash Pro, GOM & Media Player Classic Home Cinema. The 3 programs I mentioned are the full suite I use from recording through to playback. The only program I use for editing & conversion is VideoReDo.

You use NextPVR, I use TV Scheduler Pro.
You use AVIDemux, I use Video ReDo.
You use a XBOX, I use Splash Pro.

TV Scheduler Pro can be a little tricky to get setup. From the first error messages you posted I'll assume it won't run at all for you at the moment so I'd suggest you make sure Java is installed on your PC.

The second error is related to the EPG data & shouldn't stop TVSP from running... it just won't work as well as it could. TVSP does not retrieve it's own data, rather it relies on it being provided. I use EPGScan to retrieve it.

Have you read http://gizmodo.com/5096103/a-complete-guide-to-playing-video-files-on-your-ps3-xbox-360-or-wii and http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/what_will_xbox_360_play.cfm ? It might be that saving to .mpg format for streaming has limitations/problems.

I'm reluctant to install NextPVR & do a test in case it interferes with my TVSP setup, but if I decide to I'll report back.

  6. Why are you so negative and giving outright criticism towards NextPVR? You are indicating it will break something.

I believe you are being hypocritical and doing yourself what you claim others are doing.

And as I have clearly stated, I don't need VideRedo because Avidemux 2.6 works perfect!! Besides, VideoRedo cannot handle my HD ts files well at all, and trunctuates the files by up to 80%.

This has gone on long enough & this will be my last post on this topic. I am trying to help you but you just don't seem to want to listen to/try to understand/accept the advice you are offered.

1).. I don't know where you are reading I am critisising NextPVR. I'm NOT. All I am saying is that because it is used as part of the chain of things being used between your antenna to your TV that it may be influencing the problem you are having. It could just as easily be your PC, the streaming software or your XBOX. If you don't want to accept that reality, that's your problem.

2).. If you were experienced in these things you would know that not wanting to install another piece of similar software in case it affects an existing setup is perfectly reasonable.... 'coz it can affect it. One day you might find that out. However, for a newbie you seem to be pretty confident it won't.

And do something... record over 2 hour show on GEM using NextPRV and then load the ts file into VideRedo and select MPG output and tell me what happpens.
3).. Isn't this the part where YOU asked ME to install NextPVR & do a test with a recording in VideoReDo. I didn't actually volunteer. Despite my nervousness I was actually going to install it on my HTPC tonight & do some tests... but not now.

If you are happy with the solution you have, why waste my time asking me to test something for you ?

I don't understand people who ask for help, then critisize the people & the help they are given 'coz they don't get the answers they want.

    Bye.

  8. If anyone is reading this thread and are having problems with HD ts files and having problem getting them to change to MPG and stream in sync to xbox 360, then use Avidemux Experimental version 2.6 as it's working really well for me

    Get it from here:

    http://www.avidemux.org/nightly/

BTW, notice The Mariner was too chicken to test VideRedo using the method I suggested because his scared, because he knows VideoRedo cannot properly handle the HD ts files.

  9. NO Baldrick, this is a different topic, yet you closed my thread.

Avidemux 2.6 works on 90% of the files, but sometimes Avidemux 2.6 cannot load certain HD files. So I am looking for a solution to use on those 10% of files that cannot load into Avidemux 2.6

  10. what files doen't load into avidemux 2.6?

    what's the difference?

use mediainfo (view=>text) on the files that do work, and compare to the files that don't work

Also, if you provide samples and feedback to the developers, you can help to improve the software. They are specifically wanting to improve transport stream performance

ImagoMPEG-Muxer cannot handle HD video. The only muxer I know that can mux HD content is MPEG Multiplexer v1.0. I haven't had a problem with it. It is also GUI based.
