  1. Thanks in advance for any answers. I've been having issues (again) with audio syncing up with my backups of animated movies for my kid. I have generally never had these problems until recently. Some movies will convert fine, while others have very small to very large audio sync issues. I have auto audio delay toggled off as I received many errors when toggled on before. I have tried both ways and still get the same sync issues. I know the source is good, and it happens with many other videos, mostly animated (if that even matters)....

I did notice that the frames amounts have differences depending on where I look in the log. As the name suggests, I'm not very good at this so again thank you.

    Here is the log:

There's a thread here for AVStoDVD releases...perhaps post there
You could try the new beta version out, too

  3. I think here is a great place to find my answer as usual. Thanks for the info, I'll be sifting through the forum though as suggested.

Some have had luck converting the m2ts to mkv and using that as the source.
You can try GDSMUX, which comes with the Haali splitter package.
Load the m2ts, and on the global tab, deselect "minimize size".

  5. Thanks for the info, (I think you've suggested before)...... I just had another file in mkv form which I couldn't even load into avstodvd with a configuration I feel comfortable toggling. My answer was to utilize tsmuxer and create an m2ts (out of the mkv)... it is converting now and I will see in a little bit. It loaded once changed to m2ts...

For the problem at hand tho, I haven't tried your suggested method. It's like the opposite of my new prob! I'll get to it when I can and report my results. Thanks again for your help.

Not sure why MKV wouldn't load - something peculiar to that particular MKV?
Usually all you need is the Haali splitter and the dshow decoder (FFdshow/H264, CoreAVC, Divx AVC codec, etc)
(Assuming, of course, that the MKV is H264 - most seem to be these days)

I was playing around with a test m2ts file a while a go and it loaded OK, but it encoded really slow, I think it failed but I don't
remember the details. That's when I first discovered GDSMUX.
    Quote Quote
  7. You recommended it before and it worked well for that situation. I tested the mkv-m2ts (using tsmuxer) and got a huge duration error at the end. The audio is DTS so I don't know if that plays into it. The mkv itself won't load at all.. it errors out with any bit rate profile and when letting it ride default. It's AVC. I'll try the gdsmux thing to see if that changes anything. Thanks.

here's the log from my mkv-m2ts try:

  8. No dice... I tried gdsmux as suggested... couldn't get the mkv to load unless I locked the bit rate on HCENC1pass. The audio failed and then asked for a retry with ffmpeg which failed immediately. I'm starting to suspect the DTS audio.

I think I'll try using multiavchd just to see if it pops through.

Is it because of the DTS audio? Does GDSmux covert it to AC3 ?
Can you upload a clip of the source ?
    Quote Quote
  10. I was just guessing it might be due to DTS audio. Most sources I've had were already ac3, and they seem to go through most of the time.

I did try with multiavchd and had success. I used tsmuxer to create an m2ts. Loaded it with sd-dvd in mind, BUT selected dvd5 as my target. I believe this was the problem. The original file size is 4.7 gb. Those are the only two possible explanations I can come up with. Everything else I usually encode is AVC / ac3 m2ts standard, which usually have no hiccups.
