    Hi guys,

    I have an AVI which i cant get to work, sound is working but no video is showing.
    Its the first time i have ever encoutered such as an issue hopefully someone could help.

    I have the following installed:

    K-Lite Codec Pack - Mega (7.1.0)
    X-Video Codec (1.3.1)
    AVI Codec - tells me everything in the file is supported

    MediaInfo provides me with the below Video info:

    ID : 0
    Format : MPEG-4 Visual
    Format profile : Advanced Simple@L5
    Format settings, BVOP : 1

  2. You downloaded this, right? And maybe it's corrupt or incomplete?

    Anyway, you didn't tell us which player(s) you're tried. If it can be played at all, I'd try MediaPlayerClassic-Home Cinema first, followed by the VLC Player.

    yes its a downloaded complete file.
    I tried:

    MediaPlayerClassic-Home Cinema

    VLCGOM
    KM Player
    Windows Media Player

  4. It's just an ordinary XviD AVI. If there wasn't anything wrong with it, it would play. 9.66GB? Cut a small sample for upload somewhere.

  5. If it doesn't work in VLC it is either a corrupt or particular file.
    Codec Toolbox RS (A tool to read/change merit of codecs and many other things)

    Probably a purposefully corrupt studio version to piss off illegal movie downloaders. There's 9.66GB of your life wasted.

    most likely corrupt i guess; and no its not an illegal movie its a freeware japanese video.

    Try VirtualDub. Not that it will manage to open/play that very-weird Xvid-AVI,
    but the error message (if any) might be helpful
