AVCHD on hard drive: creating new AVCHD folder structure

All,
a pretty basic question. Am a proud owner of a Sony HDR-CX350. AVCHD videos recorded I store (simply copy them over) on my 2TB DLNA compatible server. I then use a NeoTV 550 to directly stream the videos to my HD TV in full quality. This works very well: the NeoTV recognizes the "INDEX.BDM" file created by the Sony camera and then plays all AVCHD clips in order. So far so good. My question: I would like to be able to copy selected *.MTS files to a new folder and create a new AVCHD folder structure, new index file etc for these "extracted" video files. I am keen to preserve the quality of the original media and don't want to spend ages converting/rendering the videos to different formats if AVCHD works fine for me. This shouldn't be more than a simple renaming / indexing exercise - have however not come across a tool which allows me to do this....Any ideas are much appreciated.

Use multiavchd. I'm not sure how to set it to not reencode files but you can create new structures with it.

VSO's avchd editor will open the avchd and change from long and short formats.

VSO in theory seems to be the right tool. However, for some obscure reason it changes the order of the files in the final playlist...per their forum other people seem to have this issue as well. Is there any similar software out there like the VSO one?
