  1. Hello,
    My equipment include:
    1.PS3
    2.AVerMedia DarkCrystal HD Capture Station
    3.Sony Bravia 32EX720 3D HDTV

I bought the capture station and been working on it for 8 hours...(I think I tried everything possible)

    Diagram:

    1. PS3-AV IN-AverMedia-HDMI-HDTV
    \-USB-PC
    2.PS3-AV IN-AverMedia-Component cable-HDTV
    \-USB-PC

    The situation is:
1.When use HDMI,I set the PS3 to use HDMI and 720p.
The TV detects something but show a white screen, the info page said it's 576p,720p,1080i.
The Capture Module software is working,720x576.

    2.When use Component cable,I set PS3 to use Component/D-terminal,tickle 576p,720p,1080i
Then I turn TV to component screen, nothing, and it's black.
The software also show nothing but black.

So what should I connect them?
To capture on PC and meanwhile play on my TV.
Is it possible that it's TV's fault?(If it is...it's a big probelm with my money...lol)

(I saw some youtube video for Xbox360 and PS3,they all use component cable in and out
Is it necessary to use component cables for recording and playing at same time?Or I can still use S-video in and Hdmi out)

If I'm reading this correctly, you're using the S-Video output on your PS3. So you need to select that on the PS3's config screen. You will be limited to SD resolution.

I don't own the Avermedia HD box but when I researched it a while back I seems to me that you can only play back pre-recorded videos from your PC via the unidirectional hdmi out connector on the Aver box. You must use the component out from the PS3 connected to the Avermedia component IN to record with your box and the component out pass-through to play live video either while it is recording or in standby.
There's not much to do but then I can't do much anyway.
