I don't understand this program because I've got to be doing something wrong! After finally getting my flv video files to convert to mp3, they don't work! Will not play, burned to cd and don't play, Quicktime does not recognize and they will not transfer to Itunes. I see that the files have the extension of flv.ff.mp3.
    HeLp!!

Moving you to our ffmpegx section then.

You could also try another tool like avidemux, open flv, under audio choose mp3, from menu -> audio choose demux audio.

I don't get the moving me part because it looks like this IS the ffmpegx place.
    ?
I will try the program you mention though. I'm just exhausted because I've tried 6 different programs already. Arg.

If all you need is .mp3 output, then may I suggest this application: All2MP3.
(It is also build around ffmpeg, but uses newer binaries.)
All2MP3 is a one trick pony, but easy as pie.

Not all FLV files are alike. FLV is a container (and sometimes even just a different kind of movie file with a renamed suffix), that can contain a variety of video codecs and audio codecs. Some of those codecs have lesser support by some conversion apps. Success with conversion does depend on which codecs were used, as proprietary codecs are sometimes discarded in open source software. YMMV.
