ok....after searching endless numbers of forums trying to find ways to improve my capture quality and a way to increase my capture resolution i stumbled upon an update from microsoft. it may not be new to you guys, but to me it was new and a God sent. Now I can capture at whatever resolution I want with no dropped frames, where as before I dropped frames at 352 x 240. here is the link.....its well worth the small download.

this thing even cleared up the sound problems i was having...i dont know how but it did![]()
enjoy!

monsoon,
This update for directx8.0 has been out for a while, however you may not be aware that the latest release is directx8.1 and it incorporates the patch.
One other thing to keep in mind is that if you're running Win98SE and you have to re-install windows, even over your current installation in order to keep your desktop settings etc, just check the version of directx. Chances are that it will be back at vers 6.1 and it will require updating.
All the best,

Hey you, moonsoon01, thanks for finding VidCap. I was trying to find it on Microsoft's Web-site. Very convenient of you. I should have looked at your note a few hours ago.
By the way, just a note that this video capturing update doesn't apply to OS WinXP.
Thank you and I have installed this patch into my computer that runs Windows Me.

every1, first off, i'd like to say sorry for the late response...i was on vacation. ok, ronin2, i have directx 8.1, but i still dropped frames like crazy, but as soon as i installed the video capture thing it stopped...so it was a quick fix for me. hopes this helps everyone.
