winoncd 5.0 locks up when program loads

hey can someone help me out there with this problem.
It locks up everytime i load it up, I've tried the patch which is,before you
reboot doing installment, you add those two driver files to windows\system32 dirctory. also I have used the winoncd 5.01 pack patch and it still locked up doing the loading of the winoncd start up screen,I've tried reloading the program numerus times any information that you could give me would be helpful. the system I'm running it on is a thunderbird 850 with windows xp pro. ps I did get the
program to laod up once or twice but it went back to locking up again
on the winoncd start up screen, and the mouse locks up too, I have to
restart my computer. Thanks out there if you can help.

Check to see if you have the correct version of DirectCD.
