No, the more expensive gear solutions do not scare many of us away: I usually opt for them myself, when they are clearly superior, and may be worth the money. But I think there is a natural suspicion here of shill postings, or those perceived as very possibly being so. And I think we can tell the difference, most of the time. We can discern those that are quite candid in presenting Pros & Cons (vs. the persistently rah-rah cheerleading) -- even where this sometimes veers into matters of opinion.

When in Las Vegas, don't miss the Pinball Hall of Fame Museum http://www.pinballmuseum.org/ -- with over 150 tables from 6+ decades of this quintessentially American art form.

TheFreeman looks like a fanboy if not someone who has a special relationship with HDFury. Read this https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/372540-HDMI-Splitter-HDCP-problem
He apparently needs a $100 solution for recording video games and can't accept somebody telling him a $20 splitter works fine for them to record TV.

I needed a $99 solution after having tried a lot of cheap options, and i'm happy to claim that i have also removed $399 solution from my setup because it was creating visual quality issue and all of this can be seen on my twitch recordings page, it's flagrant if you have a good vision.
It's your right to prefer cheap crap from china, that you have to reboot time to time or that push horizontal stripes or do not pass color space correctly or what ever else i have experienced with them. i explained my point already so do not hijack another thread just because you have another opinion and apparently love to waste natural resources as long as its cheap. (sorry but claiming that you prefer to dump cheap crap in trashcan and buy another one when having issue actually means something to me)

Really what a Troll you know who I'm rigth?? look up SHSPVR in google, I have SageTV full of tuner and capture card and just happing a few of thoses $20/30 splitter which works just fine on my SageTV Media Server in fact there are 1000's of us SageTV and NextPVR HT user with them but any can get a bad apple in bunch so don't get this BS, As for Lumagen or DvDo they are high end video processor for deinterlacing, upconversion (scaling), and refresh-rate and boat other thing which are needless in this case unless just want waste bunch cash.

In HT business, they are actually middle range priced, just like Atlona brand can be.
Of course their splitter at 70$ can seem very expensive when you compare to the 20$-30$ tag point but when you see that they can upscale or downscale each channel and such thing then you cannot agree with "over priced" terms, or worst like i've hear by my fan boy above (usually_quiet) that they are more expensive just because they bypass the CP. i'm just saying that this is untrue since both do not have the same capabilities, neither the same build quality. sounds logical to me.Last edited by TheFreeman; 9th Jul 2015 at 15:45.

As i've wrote (just read my posts history please), i'm happy it worked for you using a cheap splitter to record TV, i was just suggesting that MAY BE the user with the issue in that thread could try a more advanced splitter to make sure it works in any setup, in other words: to solve his issue. But if he have to solve his issue using a link to an amazon or ebay sellers offering only cheap splitter, then go ahead and just ignore me.
