I tried Audacity & like it. But a few strange things did happen at first. The first time I trimmed a wav file & saved it & played it using VLC only the first few & last few seconds had sound. The whole middle section was quiet, at least the parts that I checked.
I thought I did something wrong so I took the source wav file, opened it in Audacity and just re-saved it as is. It saved as about a 7000 KB file. Problem is the source was about 27000 KB. The 7000 KB wav played & I listened to just sections of it & it seemed OK.
This was the first time I used the program so I had played around quite a bit and maybe something got hung up due to all my trials & experimentation. But it seems alright now.
WinFF and Audacity is the combination I like, at least for getting a wav file from an flv. These programs are keepers. I’ll keep Avidemux in case I need it for something else. I got rid of AoA Audio Extractor.
I thank everyone for all your help & suggestions.
Mike
