I have two LCD TVs with USB support. Both of them will playback just almost any format through the USB.
Can I hook up just about any USB external HD to play movies on the TVs?
I was looking at the Western Digital WD Elements 2TB External HD.
The reason I'm interested in doing this is because I have AT&T U-verse which only broadcasts wireless-g. It seems ok upstairs where my gateway is located, but downstairs the wireless speed varies too much for consistent streaming media. This idea seems a lot easier and more reliable than trying to configure the U-verse gateway for wireless-n ( have to buy a wireless-n access point and play with configurations, etc.).
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

Most TV sets require FAT32 format on the drive. There is also a maximum number of files supported. Files above this limit are invisible to the TV.
