  1. Hello!

Been a long-time user of DVD-RB, and have been experimenting with BD-Rebuilder for the last week or so. LOVE the program so far, but have run into an issue with Greenberg. I'm 99.9% certain that I downloaded the right version of the programs listed on the Guide page when setting up the program, but am getting a message in the Log saying that "FFDSHOW VD-1 is set incorrectly". I've used the program on roughly 8-9 other titles so far with no issue...this is the first time I've seen this. Any ideas?

Thanks a ton in advance for your help!

PLEASE post bd shrinking in our bd ripping/conversion section. This is not authoring. Moving you.

Run http://www.jdobbs.net/freeware/inspect.exe and see if everything is configured correct.

  3. FFDSHOW --> Video decoder Configuration. Click "Codecs" upper left, then in the right-hand pane scroll down to VC-1. Double-click the decoder being used (second column). A drop-down list will appear. Select "WMV9", apply, okay, exit.

  4. Thanks Fritzi93! After following Baldrick's link to the inspector, I came across this window which appears to tell me the same thing in a different manner. I've made the change, so hopefully we're good to go now!

  5. Oddly enough, even though the message is different (no issue with the VC1 part) I'm still getting a failed encode. Here is the log file in case this helps anyone...

  6. Enable the VC-1 to libavcodec.

  7. What happens if you enable the internal LAVF decoder?

Anyway, it's not even starting, it's bombing out immediately, which makes me suspect the splitter is the problem. I'd try uninstalling Haali, manually deleting the Haali folder, and run a registry cleaner like CCleaner. Then reboot and re-install Haali. It may have been corrupted. Re-installing to a corrupted folder practically guarantees the problem won't go away. Surprisingly common problem. And if you have a codec pack installed, get rid of it and run a registry cleaner.

The WMV9 setting for VC-1 should work if everything else is okay.

If the above doesn't do it, start over with *all* the helper apps. Again, no codec packs.

    Good luck.

  8. It seems to have worked after dylz's suggestion of changing the VC-1 to libavcodec. I'm actually on the road for two weeks and am doing the converting via remote desktop at the home PC (ripped off a bunch to the hard drive before I left so I could experiment remotely) so I can't really "test" how a burned copy looks/plays, but no errors at all with the BD-Rebuilder in this mode. Strange?

  9. Yeah, it's strange. As the author of BDRB says: "There are some things inspect.exe can't catch, especially when other software intercepts things. A re-install can sometimes correct that." (p. 586 bug report thread). And by that he means burning everything down and starting over. *Something* on your machine is interfering with the recommended settings. Now certainly, having BDRB working is a lot better than not, but personally I'd do the complete re-install and see if the error persists with the WMV9 setting for VC-1.

    Good luck.
