I have a ReplayTV Video HardDisk recorder (not the 4000 series with the ethernet port), but the first generation. I would like to move or migrate shows (mpeg files) from the recorder to my PC for editing and burning to a VCD or SVCD. Any ideas how to do this without having a network?
Wondering if there is someway to install a Firewire or USB port to the Replay unit (using a clever modification) and transfer MPEGS using a portable hand held HD to hook up tothe PC's firewire port for editing and burning. Currently have a VCD/SVCD stand-alone deck by DataVideo, but it has drawbacks. Only outputs on ReplayTV units is RCA outs and S-Video out.
Anybody every done this or know how?
