To those who have 64 bit machines: How do you connect to the Internet? From what I heard: Firefox does not run on Win 7, 64 bit-the addons will not work for one thing. IE9 has a 64 bit version but, Adobe Flash is not up to the job. There a work in progress for Adobe Flash but, I am not to keen on that. Your comments please.

I use firefox 32bit. Works fine. I'm not one of these: "I simply refuse to use 32 bit in a time where 64 bit is the standard"..

32 bit Firefox (and most plugins) works fine on Win7 64 bit. The only major advantage to running 64 bit software is in applications that need more than 2 GB of DRAM.

all that you have mentioned that's not suppose to be done on Win 7 64 bit I'm doing right now (I'm on Win 7 Home Premium and Professional 64 bit). Firefox is fine. All my add-ons work fine. Flash is fine. Java is fine. As time goes by all the little issues that encountered the 64 bit dilemma early on are being solved. For ie9, try adobe's beta flash player for 64 bit called Adobe "Square". Make the jump

Thank you gentlemen! Now, I can look forward to using FF 4 on my soon to arrive Sandy Bridge computer.
Does anyone know if AIOS runs in FF?
We will see how Sandy bridge likes FF4.Last edited by pepegot1; 10th Apr 2011 at 11:19.

It is true that add ons may not work on the Firefox 64 bit build for Windows. It's a chicken and egg problem. Firefox refuses to officially release the 64 bit Windows build because most add ons aren't available in 64 bits, but their refusal to official release the build means that add on makers have no incentive at all to release 64 bit versions. However, the 64 bit build of Firefox works reliably well under 64 bit Windows 7 and the 64 bit beta Flash has given me no problems either.
Note that Moontrash does not explicitly state what he is using. He may be using the 32 bit Firefox or he may simply use the few add ons that are available as 64 bit add ons. -
The 64-bit Flash is here => http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer10_square.html

I've used the 32 bit firefox on several win7 64 systems with no problems. Never tried the 64 bit firefox though.
