You F**CKED UP! Windows XP is the worst Windows out there for editing video. Most videos card will not work with XP. Remove it. Windows 98 will give you your best edting ability. I have XP and if I could remove it I
would. It came with my pc. To remove it would mean screwing with the drivers. That is a big no no. You just use a upgrade. There should be no reason you can not just uninstall it You may find more then one thing that will crash with XP.

  3. List details about what you are exactly doing and what kind of program you are using to view the file, etc. I don't have a problem converting under XP. Make sure you have all the necessary drivers, codecs, etc. XP can be very bare once installed.

  6. I am having the same trouble. This is the first time I have had this happen to me every other conversion has worked fine except for the newest movie I have. Did anyone ever find or get a fix for this. THanks in advance.

  7. Just a thought - I do not run XP (I run Windows Me) but under Win XP if you upgrade any major component, you have to redo the activation process over again. Have you done so? If not, it could be the source of some of your problems.

    Cheers

  8. Windows XP is the worst operating system that microcrap has released yet. Get rid if it and get Windows 98 or Windows 2000 Pro installed instead.

I hate those f**king XP Kernals.

  9. I've been running WinXP for months and I've never had any problems playing/coverting/editing avi or mpeg files. Actually, I get better capture results now than ever before. Check your environmental settings in Tmpgenc. If your encoding from a DivX-file just raise the priority of the Avi2 (open DML) and the Direct Show reader. It just might solve your problem. If not let us know what conversion your doing exactly.

    Good luck.... Jack

  11. I've also been running Win XP and never had any problems play/converting/editing that wasn't me not knowing what I was doing. After reinstalling your Os, did you also reinstall the codec for the vid file your wanting to convert/play same with the audio codec? Since your getting audio you prolly have the that codec installed.

  12. I found a fix and I got the picture back Hopefully it will work for all of you. All I did was download the SMR Codec patch (search for it on yahoo) should come from the divxdigest or something to that effect once i did that I ran the setup program and overwrote the codec that was on there the one I had was newer and I overwrote it with the SMR one. As Soon as I did that I got the picture back. Hope this works for anyone else having this troble. Seems to be a problem with the newer codec.
