I have a WDTV Live media server that doesn't support 5.1 AAC audio yet, in MP4 files, I would like to know if it is possible to grab my video file, convert ONLY the audio to a different format, keeping the 5.1 surround in tact, my friend tells me AC3 5.1 is what I want, but no idea how??

I am pretty noob when it comes to encoding etc, so does such an app exist that can do it in a few simple clicks? Or is it an expert job? lol

  2. Avidemux is what you want, just set video copy, change audio to ac3 and to keep the 5.1 just don't change the audio filter settings configure will let you set the bitrate.

Thanks for the reply, I tried avidemux, but it keeps saying A Frame not in position, when it is, So I tried to change it to different codec, and it just crashes whichever I select, the file is an MP4 with AAC Audio. Is there any other programs that will convert JUST the sound to 6 channel AC3?
