I was doing some reading on wikipedia (dubious source I know but its a start) on 3d tech and I've been wondering something since I've started diving into 3d a bit.

    ------------------------

Is it possible to do a variation of polarized 3d on non 3dtv sets?

Are there any "clear" 3d methods that are used on dvds or blurays that do not require 3dtv sets?

    ----------------

By "clear" I mean ones that do not rely on a variation of color glasses like red/cyan or magenta/green.

I do know about nvidias 3d system but that requires a 120hz and from what I understand is a variation of the 3dtv active systems that reguire a shutter on/off system.

From what I've seen of the 3d anaglyph thats for non 3dtvs its pretty good but the color drain is disappointing. That is what is so impressive about the newer 3dtvs is it preserves the original color of the film while doing 3d.

Is it technologically possible to do this on non 3dtvs with passive systems?

    ---------------

    One last question on 3d:

Are there any 3d bluray players that output a realtime anaglyph verion of the film for non 3dtvs? I do understand some "3d" bluray movies do have anaglyph versions on them for regular paper glasses but do any convert in realtime from the true 3d bluray discs into anaglyph?

Edit - I saw something about inficolor 3d on wikipedia. It says battle for terra cg movie was done this way. Also the batman arkham asylum 3d version was done in inficolor 3d. How are the glasses different? Is this what i"m thinking of when I'm describing "clear" 3d on non 3dtvs? Is this a doable format for future releases?
