  1. Ahoy! I am trying to use ffmpegx...and...I can't!
I have the mencoder, mplayer & mpeg2enc installed. As far as I can interpret they are correctly installed.
Doesn't matter what I modify, or what the file type is, when I click encode I get the AppleScript Error sh: /usr/bin/machine: Permission denied (126)
    I'm lost.

If there is any additional information I need to provide, let me know.

    Thank you folks!

The binaries are installed correctly if the installer window doesn't come up again after a re-launch.

As for the 'Permission denied' error, do try Repair Disk Permissions for your boot volume (startup disk), using Disk Utility.

  3. Whenever I open it the Installer window pops up, but it says the components in red are either missing or outdated, none of them are in red.

Perhaps the installer failed at one of the other tasks (besides the binaries) it was trying to do during the install process.

After repairing permissions, try moving (at least) one of the binaries from /Library/Application Support/ffmpegX/ to somewhere else, e.g. the Desktop. Then launch ffmpegX again. It would show that one missing binary. Use the Locate button to tell where that binary is. Install.

Does ffmpegX function without this error now?

  5. Repairing Permissions has removed that error. Thank you sir!
