    Hi gang.

Ross, your method for SVCD is fantastic. Finally, no emulation, no rebooting!

I'm curious what encoding rates people average, for standard SVCD and VCD resolutions, and their hardware configuration. I'm averaging about 40 times realtime for SVCD, on a yosemite g3.

By the way, does the mpeg2enc in mediapipe only do VBR if the quality is set to 1?

    Thanks all.

  2. To the best of my memory, VBR is set on anytime quality is set.
I think a quality set to 0, encodes at CBR, but I'am not sure.

As for your speeds, recheck your numbers, or I will be downgrading my G4 to a faster G3.
