Is there any kind of software that I can embed into videos that would prevent people from downloading it?
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

What's so special about your videos? If you don't want people to "steal" your videos, then don't post them online.
ICBM target coordinates:

Make them private so only your friends can view them, have a look at this http://stackoverflow.com/questions/300749/protect-flash-video-from-download-right-protect

You've also got to think about how much trouble is it worth trying to prevent downloading, when screen capture of vids can give pretty good results.

The best option is to put a great big watermark smack dab in the middle of the video so that nobody will bother trying to steal it.

Maybe Janlafata is worried about other people uploading his videos for download shares? If not and these are uses you have control over, Dylz provided some pretty good suggestions especially at the URL mentioned. However the bottom line in all cases is no. Any DRM you try to use can be defeated by someone who really wants a copy of your video even if it is just brute-force copying as Munster1 mentions.

then you find out it's a video of game-play or the first baby
