    What's the latest and greatest in cleaning up digitized hi8 for free?
    It's currently in DV-AVI format...I usually use vdub

    I've been kinda busy shooting stuff and not up to date on this...

    The question is too vague. What filters you want to use depends on what's wrong with the video.

    for future reference, I'm finding the dynamic noise reduction MMX by Steven Don plugin for vdub very good. It seems most filters tend to blur the image slightly making it appear somewhat better. However, with the MMX plugin, it cleans the visual noise without blurring
