Hauppauge hd pvr sound issues with new graphics card

    Hi there,

I have been happily capturing for years but recently installed a Sapphire HD5450 1GB DDR3 Graphics Card

and now have muffled, over bassy low volume sound when monitoring and on the finished recording.

Set up is as follows .....V+ box to Hauppauge via component/optical,on to pc via usb cable, new card is outputting video/audio

via hdmi to my cinema amp.

When i swap to rca lead sound is just as bad.

I would happily connect a spare monitor and capture as i did until recently via onboard graphics card, but when i connect

monitor no signal is output to it.

So it would seem the new card is not handling the audio correctly and also it is overridding the onboard card.

I did uninstall the onboard card drivers when installing new card as advised.

V+ is set to hdmi audio override to receive 5.1 broadcasts via optical lead.

So please can someone advise me either how to reconfigure my loop with the new card or how to reinstall onboard card

drivers so i can disable new card and proceed using the old one?

I have obviously searched for an answer and tried to solve myself, but i am stumped!

    amd athlon 64 x2 dual core processor 5200+ 2.7ghz 1.5gb of ram windows 7

Yeah, I bet nearly everyone here can relate to that.

Puzzling over a supposed hardware problem, maybe doing elaborate troubleshooting, only to find out it was ridiculous user error.

    Good one.
    Pull! Bang! Darn!
