  1. Just so you know, although development is virtually frozen, I released a new version of MaestroSBT (2.6.2.0). Find it at source forge: http://sourceforge.net/projects/maestrosbt/.

This is the changelog from previous version (2.6.0.0):

    Version 2.6.2.0
    • Added support for up to 255 colors plus background per subpicture on certain scripts (currently only for .DoST files). This implies anti-alias. Requires use of PNG output.
    • Corrected crash retrieving font kerning (how come did that ever worked!).
    • Corrected tooltips in the settings and preview windows.
    • I-Author output might have been broken; please contact me through SourceForge bug tracking if you find problems with it.
    • Project upgraded to Visual Studio 2008.

    Good work.

If you get a chance, could you add the ability to fade subtitles in and out (like FADEIN = 15, or FADEOUT = 15) where 15 is number of frames to fade?

Also, the ability to force a certain subtitle to display regardless of the subtitle view selection would be nice.

I know that both of these can be accomplished by adding tags to a .STL file as the bitmaps are compiled. I'm not sure about a .SON file.

Right now, I have to go into each subtitle that I want to be "forced" and check the FORCED SUBTITLE box, or add the fadein and fadeout amounts individually - not very productive!
    ICBM target coordinates:
    26° 14' 10.16"N -- 80° 16' 0.91"W

  3. Hi, SLK001. Please file separate feature requests in Source Forge (http://sourceforge.net/projects/maestrosbt/support). You'd have to document the exact output you expect and provide examples of input and output *final* files to work with, and as much ducumentation as possible, since I do no longer have the tools to work with nor time to investigate. Hey, I don't even have a CD or DVD drive on my PC anymore!
Please mind that I'm not making any promises. I *really* don't have time to work with this.

Does this mean it doesn't support UNICODE anymore/yet?

Also: the design flaw, regarding Right-To-Left languages,
has been fixed, or remains untouched

  5. El Heggunte, please mind that there are TWO versions of MaestroSBT: ANSI and Unicode. ANSI is the most tested so far. Unicode hasn't received ANY FEEDBACK, so I don't know if it works well or not. Check the project files at http://sourceforge.net/projects/maestrosbt/files/
