Im having a problem when using deshaker. My saved avi file has white arrows in it, I know this is the first pass . It doesnt perform the second pass , and that what I get for output video. I have read the instructions at both here
http://www.sundancemediagroup.com/articles/deshaker_guide.htm
and here
http://www.guthspot.se/video/deshaker.htm
but everytime I try to output a useable video from save to avi I get the dub video on the left side of the split screen. ]

Set up for your first pass in the deshaker dialog, then in VirtualDub in the "File" menu list do "Run video analysis pass". When that finishes, open up the deshaker dialog and click on the "Pass 2" button and set up the options. Close the dialog and now do the "Save as AVI". Each pass has to be run manually.

Thanks for the replys. I checked my versions of vdub and deshaker, they were so old I decided to download the latest version of each. Now my plug ins for MP4, mov, flv ect no longer work. So now I have to find the fix for that. I was running everything as you guys stated above , except I dont know if I had full process mode checked.
But now I cant pull an Mp4 into vdub so I have to work on that before I can re-try -
Still not able to get Deshaker to work. I have the newest version 2.7 and I still get the same results. I have full processing mode enabled , I run the video analysis pass , save as avi and ever time I have the same thing. A video with white arrow everywhere.
Why cant I get this to work? -

Set Deshaker to Pass 1, run analysis pass, set Deshaker to Pass 2, Save as AVI.

Deshaker requires 2 passes. In the Deshaker config dialog hit the Pass 1 button and configure as required. Close the dialog and in the File menu click "Run video analysis pass". This will run the first pass, creating the text file that contains the motion data for each frame. When this finishes, go back to the Deshaker config dialog and hit the Pass 2 button and configure as required. Close the dialog and select your video codec for compression. Go to the File menu and select "Save Avi". This will run the second pass, reading the motion data file that was created in the first pass and adjust the video motion to how you set up the pass 2 parameters and send the modified video to the video encoder.

You can run Pass 2 multiple times with different settings and see the differences the various settings make.

Ah Thanks for the quick replys. I think Khaver is on to something. I am hitting the second pass , every time. And after hitting "pass2" , setting it up (pass two) and closing the dialog box and save avi I still get white arrows. The only new thing I see is Im not picking a codec.
I thought if you didnt choose a codec, Vdub would do the pass without compression. I will try that when I get home
But, yes I have been doing two pass set up , it just seems vdub isnt doing anything with the second pass -
Go to the File menu and select "Save Avi". This will run the second pass, reading the motion data file that was created in the first pass and adjust the video motion to how you set up the pass 2 parameters and send the modified video to the video encoder.

The input pane always shows the input video.
The input pane always shows the input video. It should not be showing you the result of the first pass unless you saved the result of the first pass as a video and then opened that video as the source video. You should leave the original input video as your source video.
1) Open source video
2) Add Deshaker filter
3) Set Deshaker to Pass 1, setup any pass 1 parameters
4) File -> Run Video Analysis Pass
5a) Go back to the deshaker dialog and select Pass 2, setup any pass 2 parameters
5b) See the results by scrubbing through the video, go back to step 5a if necessary
6) File -> Save as AVILast edited by jagabo; 28th Apr 2011 at 10:54.

Im on another forum discussing this. I think they have the answer. When I set up the second pass and hit ok the filters box comes up showing what filters have been applied. I have been told to uncheck pass one . I do remeber both passes having checks each time I have tried to render out.
I think this may be the problem. I will try it when I get home
You should leave the original input video as your source video.
Thanks again
