I just downloaded Super Video converter from Eightsoft.com. Super has been a good video converter and I wanted the latest version. What happened is that it did load Super, but when I installed it hijacked my browser to Bing (Microsoft's inferior imitation of Google which uses Google search hits to do most of its work) and changed my homepage to Bing. Fortunately, at least this time, it did not change my hosts file, so I was able to change it back. HOWEVER, when I ran a Hijack This log on my computer, this showed up:
FF - Ext: Search Toolbar: searchtoolbar@zugo.com - %profile%\extensions\searchtoolbar@zugo.com\
I don't know what deal Eightsoft, Microsoft and Zugo have going, but they will enter loaders without your permission. I then ran a scan of my register and found five more entries there which I deleted. This is a cardinal sin in internet courtesy-it is not acceptable to hijack people's search engines and change their home pages. Be warned![]()

People have already been warned. Several people who have installed the latest version(s) have said that there is an option check-box during the install procedure where you can opt out of that.

Yes, I made the mistake of not reading the second EULA. And there is no check box to opt out; either you accept that they hijack your browser or decline and it won't install.
