I just taught myself how to use mirc and download movies! I've been trying to download them onto a vcd! I've used the TMPGE appz and I've tried to convert itusing PAL and NTSC! Nothing worked! I get a message telling me that it's some sort of video 2.0 cd and it asks if i want to con't! I click yes but the cd won't play on my dvd player! I'm i missing a key part in the encoding stage? Can someone please help me?
Thanks ( In Advance)

I'm a newbie here as well and went through the same process as you. My mistake was to use EZ CD Creator to create the CD.
I just used NERO and burned the CD as a VCD (as per the instructions here) and all worked fine. -
do you think you can tell me the way you did it? Was it from an Avi or did you convert it to Mpeg-1? Does the movie come up in full screen?
Thank-you -
I converted the AVI to MPG using TMPGEnc using the VCD NTSC template. After generating the MPG, I burned the CD using NERO 5.5 using the VCD option.
I followed the instructions found here in the "Convert" section and the "Author" section and it worked perfectly.

to make the s-vcd disks you need you use nero, the make svcd from the menue and put you video in the root i think.
Also if you got the vcd as a bin and cue files you can load the cue in nero and make the disk automatically. -
if you don't have nero, download cdrwin its a free ware, this will burn a cue/bin

if i remember right 1:1 is for playback on a computer and 4:3 is playback for TV.
