Can someone explain cpu priority to me regarding video processing?
Xmedia Recode has my cpu priority set to below normal. Is this correct? If i set it to normal, would it speed the encoding up at all? Thanks!

CPU Priority refers to the scheduling priority. When more than one task is requesting CPU time the one with the highest priority gets the most, the one with the lowest priority gets the least. If only one task is running it doesn't matter what its priority is, it gets all the CPU time it can use (except for a small amount used by the O/S for bookkeeping). The reason for running video encoding at low priority is to allow more interactive tasks (web browsing, email, etc.) to be more responsive when needed.
