  1. when I try to capture, the video freezes after 45 minutes, then will only display video (no sound) - not a big deal since it still encodes the audio. on playback, only first the 10-15 minutes are encoded. everything else looks OK - drivers are up to date
    any ideas ?

    The first thing that comes to mind: Where are you storing the captures? If it's an external drive formated as FAT 32, it can only do files in 4GB blocks. Check your captured filesize. If it's a bit short of 4GB, then that could be the problem. Second, does your capture drive have enough room? Running out of HDD space can cause problems.

    More questions: What format are you capturing the video with? What codec? What are you capturing? TV? What software are you using for capture? Sometimes the software bundled with a card really sucks. Check around for better software that is compatible with your card.

    Last, try to find a user forum for that particular card. Most times, they have already experienced the most common problems and maybe even have a solution.

    Other members here may have some better information.
