I am currently doing daily backups using a hard drive. I would like to do an additional archival backup semi-monthly or monthly. Should I just use a SD card for this since I do not have to deal with all the formatting issues that comes with blu ray discs? What are the advantages of using blu ray media for backups?
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays!

The advantage of blu-ray backup is archiving large amounts of data and not losing it due to sd card failure, only thing is the data becomes obselete after awhile unless it's stuff like pictures or documents that aren't going to be updated.

I will be using new discs each time I do a backup. Will the data last long on the disc? What do you mean the data becomes obsolete?

Any data that gets updated.Good quality discs will last for years,i got cds from 1999 that still read with no errors.

How in the hell can anyone compare SD cards and Blu Ray discs? It's like a swimming pool vs. the ocean.
Are you serious or do you talk just to hear yourself talk? -
Why don't you look at an online solution. there are loads of them about and you have the advantage of it can'nt be stolen and it has less chance of failing if you get the right service. just make sure you get one that encpyts the data or you do it your self before you upload it

Stick with hard drives, just buy more of them and from different batches.
Bluray media and SD cards would be unaffordable??/ Slow /non re-usable / unable to be indexedCorned beef is now made to a higher standard than at any time in history.
The electronic components of the power part adopted a lot of Rubycons. -
Thanks. I will just buy more hard drives. Maybe use one of the hard drives on a monthly basis and keep it off site.
