Crazy problem...driving me crazy. I have the USB connected DVDEXPRESS DX2 standalone capture unit. I am trying to take old VHS tapes to DVD. The video is ok and captures fine. However, the souind will not capture. Here;s the odd part...when I replay the captured DVD on the APEX AD-1100W DVD player...I have sound and video..works fine. However, when I play the DVD on my PHILLIPS DVP5140 DVD PLAYER..I have no souind. The capture program with the DVDEXPRESS DX2 unit offers different audio adjustments options...

AUDIO ENCODING FORMAT......MPEG1/LAYER 2 ( this is the default setting)
    WAV

    AUDIO FREQUENCY: 48.0 KHZ (default)
    44.1 Khz
AUDIO BIT RATE: 224 kbps ( default)
    192
    256
    320
    384

See anything to make my VHS tapes compatible on all DVD players with both sound and video? Video fine...but no sound on some players.

do not use 44.1khz audio. Only 48khz and try PCM sound (non-compressed). Shall work on any player
