Hello folkz,
I have been working in the analogue video world for some time & am just about to move up to the wonderful world of DV. I have Premiere 6.0 and want to capture 16x9 DV footage off a Canon XL1 camera but I don't yet have a Firewire card. Of course with Prem 6.0 I only need a cheap one, doesn't even need to have NLE software bundled. Do cheap Firewire cards support the capture & output of DV footage with a pixel aspect ratio of 1.4222 (16x9 widescreen)?

Firewire cards do not capture, they only transfer digital data from point a to point b. So if the digital video you are transfering is in 16x9 it will still be in 16x9 when it gets to its destination. 8)
